Document Scanning

Scanning is a process of converting hard copy (paper, microfilm, microfiche) documents into electronic images, for computer use. Once scanned and placed into the computer system along with a document index database, the document images can be retrieved and viewed effortlessly in seconds.

Microsystems Scanning Bureau encompasses a flow process that includes scanning but extends further. In general, the scanning of document includes the operations: document preparation, scanning, indexing (Automatic data capture by Barcode, OCR, ICR or manual data entry), QC and delivery of electronic images on CD, DVD, Online access via internet etc.

Microsystems works with businesses to identify the most efficient and practical solution to manage the documents in the workplace.

Microsystems uses a mix of scanning hardware to deliver to the individual needs of our clients coupled with customisable and robust input managment and forms recognition software from the world leading Captiva Software Corporation ( InputAccel and Formware).

Our document-scanning department scans documents up to A0 size; these include Purchase Ledger Invoices, Expense Claims, HR Files, Accounts Payable, Proof of Deliveries, Claims Forms, Membership Forms, Application Forms and many other document types. Our scanners can scan either in black & white or colour or both in a single scan and we output in various formats such as Group 4 TIFF, PDF, JPEG etc. These images along with associated indexing can be delivered to our customers for import into their existing Document Management Systems.

We process in excess of 1.5 million images per month using High Speed ScanOptics scanners (upto 400 images per minute or 12,000 pages per hour), Kodak Colour Scanners and Mid Volume Fujitsu scanners. Not all clients and conversion requirements are the same. Microsystems ensures with its technology mix, that we can deliver to the specific requirements of our clients.

Whether converting millions of documents from historical files, or capturing day-forward information; whether outsourcing a single function, or an entire conversion process, Microsystems has the experience, bandwidth and functional competencies necessary to meet and exceed all expectations.
